Ellen's caring parents: Her mother has just one worry, and Ellen even was in therapy because of this, when her daughter will finally get married and stop wasting her time in this childish book store; and a little bit slack father, who works as a patent agent and whose biggest hobby is the hunt for the cheapest special offers.

One of Ellen's main pastimes is to find out, what lies she was told during her childhood, like the balletschool burnt down, or the her aunt actually was her father's mistress, and so on. Lois tries hard to find a man for her daughter and to constantly remind her that the biological clock is ticking...
